First time here and it was terrific! We ordered mushrooms as an appetizer and they were great. Not the typical frozen breaded ones. These were hand breaded and a huge amount. I had the chicken fried steak with green beans and mashed potatoes and white gravy. It was amazingly delicious! Hubby had shrimp and grits. Huge portion and he said it was delicious. Lots of goodies in it. Fast and very friendly service. They do have a salad bar too. Didn’t get a dessert because we couldn’t even finish our meals. It was very reasonably priced as well. I forgot to get a picture of the mushrooms. Great home cooking.

First time here last night. We have passed this place every weekend on our way to Bowden, so we thought we would stop in and try it. We ordered fried mushrooms as an appetizer. Husband got shepherds pie and fried okra. Son got fried “Chicken Toes” and fries. I got Shrimp n’ Grits with fried green tomatoes. The food was absolutely amazing! Portion sizes were huge! Everything tasted freshly made and we were very excited about that! However, we didn’t get offered refills on our drinks. It was uncomfortably warm inside the restaurant that we were almost out of drinks before our food arrived because our drinks were the only thing keeping us cool. We could barely eat because we were literally fighting off flies the whole time. We became quite annoyed with it gave up on eating. Needless to say, we asked for to-go boxes and left. I’m hoping last night was just an off night and I’m hoping that maybe they were having problems with the AC because I would love to come back and try this place again!

The food wasn't bad. Portions were good size. I got the smash melt burger and fries. My daughter got a kids burger with mac-n-cheese. My husband got the fried chicken and dressing with white gravy with green beans and mac-n-cheese. The desserts are huge on size; especially the peanut butter pie ! It was like getting the whole pie . We got the banana pudding, too, and it was delicious. The major issue I have is that you CANNOT substitute any other side on the burgers, and I think the sandwiches as well. But overall food was not bad.

Ok this is a definite a try! A couple cons but mostly pros. The crisp on the chicken is to die for! They make everything themselves. Con was my tasty green besns were cold. I think because they were served in metal dish. They people were great and service exceptional. Menu has so many great dishes to try it is hard to chose! Go give them a try. I am sure you wont be disappointed.

My husband and I just returned home from Mama-N-Em's, where we were celebrating our wedding anniversary -- it was fabulous! Food and service were both great, he had a steak and I ate shrimp (so good). My hubby says if anybody leaves that place hungry they need to see a doctor. The only negative is the lightning, or lack of, especially over the salad bar. I'd would recommend the place to everyone.

This was our first time here (May 16, 2024)under this owner, Miss Becky. We had a late lunch so it was not busy. My husband and I both had the country fried steak. I have never have one so thick, crispy, and tender you could cut it with a spoon. And HUGE! Two of them per plate served with two sides and bread for just $12.99. Our server, Gina, was super nice and attentive. I told her that the garlic in the mashed potatoes tasted scorched and she offered several times to bring us something else, but I insisted it wasn’t that bad. I only thought Miss Becky might want to know. All of their food is homemade from the stump up. Right down to the fried okra. It doesn’t come in frozen then dumped into a fryer. It’s hand breaded. Who does that these days? Miss Becky, that’s who! I can’t wait to go back on a weekend night for her prime rib!
